3131 - Intradistrict Transfers and School Attendance Area Changes

Policy: 3131

Section: 3000 - Students

Title: District Attendance Area Transfers

Status: Active

Adopted: September 17, 1981

Each student in the district is required to attend the school designated for the geographic attendance area in which the student resides unless the student has been accepted for enrollment in one of the district’s schools or programs designated by the superintendent.

School attendance boundaries may be changed in order to operate an effective and efficient educational program in those cases where estimated enrollments are in excess of a building capacity.

Parents/guardians shall be informed annually of the district's attendance area transfer option. The district shall provide online access to the office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction's annual information outlining parent’s and guardians’ enrollment options for their children.  If needed, a request may be made for the information to be provided in written form.
