Windward High School held its annual Fall Community Service Day celebrating more than 22 days of student service to our
community. Community Service Days have been a Windward tradition since 2004 when we opened our doors as a small school choice for Ferndale and Whatcom County students.
Navigation (advisory/homeroom) classes partnered with several community organizations, including: Ferndale Boys & Girls Club, Whatcom Mountain Bike Coalition, Sterling Paz Community Garden, and Birch Bay Chamber of Commerce.
Students participated in a variety of service activities such as cleaning up beaches, putting garden beds to rest, clearing trails, and performing farm chores.
One class stayed on campus, where students worked in the garden, painted a giant chessboard on the ground, and set up a new library space.
All told, students and staff donated nearly 400 hours of service!
