Sports Medicine Team Wins Championship

Congratulations to Ferndale High School’s Sports Medicine Team who won the 14th Annual WESCO Sports Medicine Championships held Friday, May 19. The team competed against 12 other WESCO teams. Individually, team member senior Kyanna Bren placed 36th out of 247 competitors.

Students competed in a variety of tests and emergency procedures. Altogether, 24 Ferndale students participated in the symposium and competition held in Tacoma, Washington.

Advisor for the team is Tom Diimmel. Mr. Diimmel is also this year’s Washington Career and Technical Sports Medicine Association President.
