All district schools and offices will be closed Monday, May 29, in observance of Memorial Day.
Memorial Day is a Day of Honor. We honor and pay tribute to those persons, American Soldiers, who died while serving in United States Armed Forces. They laid their lives so that others may live a peaceful life.
Memorial Day is the federal holiday in the United States, which observed on the last Monday of May, every year. This day originated as Decoration Day after American Civil War (1868). (Why it named as Decoration Day?) Grand Army of Republic (an organization of Union Veterans) formerly introduced this day for the nation to decorate the graves of the soldiers which died during the war with flowers.
