Ferndale Schools is pleased to announce the hiring of Jeremy Vincent as Ferndale High School’s next principal. Mr. Vincent moves from his role as the school’s assistant principal, where he has served since 2015, to the principalship.
“I am pleased to have Jeremy Vincent taking over the principal role at Ferndale High School. As a long-time principal of big high schools myself, I know firsthand what a complex and demanding job it is. I have every confidence that Mr. Vincent possesses both the skills and the work ethic necessary to be successful in the role. I am also impressed by his commitment to becoming an integral part of the Ferndale community. He and his wife have chosen this place to raise and educate their own three young children,” said Superintendent Linda Quinn.
In an effort to find the most qualified and best match for Ferndale High School, an extensive search for potential candidates was conducted. The posting was sent out state-wide and included national exposure. Candidates interviewed met the characteristics outlined by Ferndale High staff. An interview team made up of certificated, classified and district staff interviewed six candidates. The team narrowed the list of candidates down and made a recommendation to the superintendent. Extensive reference checks were done on candidates, along with second level interviews with the district’s Executive Team. Mr. Vincent met the characteristics sought by FHS staff and possesses the qualification and attributes sought by our school district.
Mr. Vincent received his principal certification from Western Washington University, Master’s of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Eastern Washington University, and Bachelor’s of Arts in Education from Northwest University. He earned his National Board Certification in 2012.
Mr. Vincent will begin his new role with the district July 1, 2017.
Ferndale High School serves grades 9-12 with an approximate enrollment of 1,350 students.
