College Signing Day at Ferndale High School

On Thursday May 5, Ferndale High School celebrated students and their choice to follow an academic pathway upon graduating from Ferndale High School this spring. Approximately 100 college-bound seniors were recognized with a performance by the mighty FHS Drum Line and were honored by counseling staff and administrators. About 79% of Ferndale High seniors go on to a two or four year institution. For this year, that equates to 250 students.

College Signing Day is part of First Lady Michelle Obama’s Reach Higher Initiative to help achieve the President’s “North Star” goal—that by 2020, America will once again have the highest proportion of college graduates in the world.
