Fall Sports Season
The 2017 fall sports season begins on Wednesday August 30 and finishes on Friday October 20.  Football practice starts two days earlier than the other fall sports on Monday August 28.
Students participating in fall sports, who are unable to begin practice the week before school starts, may begin practice the first week of school; though, in this case, your student may not be eligible for the first game or meet.

Practices
Practices take place on Monday through Thursday, 2:40 pm-4:30 pm.  Practice on Friday is optional.  All teams practice at Horizon Middle School except for Girls Softball who practice at Ferndale High School. Also, X-country may practice occasionally at other local places like Hovander Homestead Park.
The first day of practice will start in the Horizon Gym.  Students must meet certain eligibility requirements below before they can participate in practice and games.  Also note, students participating in X-Country, Girls Softball and Boys Soccer need 8 practices to be eligible for competition play.  Students playing football need 10 practices to be eligible for competition play.
Beginning on the first day of school, an activity bus is available to transport your student home at 4:30 pm, Monday-Thursday.
Games/Meets
The first games/meet of the season will begin the week of September 11. Stay tuned for schedules to be posted on our athletic website page in early September.  Uniforms will be handed out by the second week of practice.  On away game/meet days, buses transport your student to and from the event.  On game days, parent/guardians will need to pick up their student-athlete up at Horizon Middle School after the event.
