Ferndale Schools Students and Staff volunteer to build new Star Park

During the first week of June, Ferndale Schools students, staff and parents, along with community members and local businesses, volunteered their time and energy to build a new 12,000 square foot park in Ferndale—Star Park. The City of Ferndale earned a grant from the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office and received individual and business donations to pay for the park. Park designers, Leathers and Company, worked with Ferndale elementary students to create a design that is unique to Ferndale. Volunteers spent the week building the park from the ground up. This video shows the amazing energy our community put into this project.
