Ferndale High Student in Accident

According to the Washington State Patrol, this afternoon at approximately 3:30 p.m. one of our Ferndale High School students was in a fatality accident near Horizon Middle School. State Patrol officials said that “Petr Shulga was riding a motorcycle on Monument Drive.  He was an inexperienced rider and this was his first time on a motorcycle.  He lost control of the motorcycle and hit a curb. Petr died at the scene from his injuries. His family was notified at the scene.” Our heartfelt condolences go out to Petr’s family and friends. Please know that you are close in our thoughts.

We know many of our families may be affected by this sad news. The district will have supports in place for your child at our schools tomorrow. Our staff, especially counselors, will be available to assist our students.

Classes at Ferndale High will proceed on regular schedule tomorrow, Tuesday.
