Inaugural IB Exhibition held at Beach Elementary Beach Elementary School, the smallest International Baccalaureate (IB) school in the world, hosted its first Exhibition. Fifth grade students Lauren Hoekstra, Veda Kinkade and Oceana Pomeroy presented their in-depth, collaborative inquiry project at a reception for the community. Ferndale High School football standouts, Justice Powell and Patrick Hegarty, signed papers today to play football for Simon Fraser University (SFU) next fall. School Board Meeting Cancelled

School Board President Kevin Erickson has cancelled tomorrow’s (March 10) school board visit to Beach Elementary School. It was decided to cancel the meeting because the Lummi Island ferry is not operating at this time, and it is unknown when the ferry will be again operation on regular schedule. Lummi Island Ferry Not Operating

Ferndale Schools has been informed that the regular ferry to Lummi Island is not currently operating due to an electrical problem with one of the docks. A foot passenger ferry will make one roundtrip to the island at 3:00 p.m. For the 3:00 p.m. run, school district students and parents of those students will be given priority in loading the ferry. Windward Mock Trial Team Moves on to State
