Administrative Change for Ferndale Schools
It is with great enthusiasm that we announce Mark Hall has been appointed to an additional position in the district—part-time principal of Beach Elementary School. Mr. Hall will replace Georgia Dellinger who will continue to serve as the Central Elementary School Principal.
Mr. Hall will begin his new position July 1, 2017. Since 1992, Mr. Hall has served Ferndale students in multiple roles. For 19 years he worked as an elementary classroom teacher, then he served as principal of Cascadia Elementary School for three years. Since 2015 he has served in the role of executive director for teaching and learning.
In accepting this new position, Mr. Hall said he sincerely appreciates the opportunity to be back in a school setting working with students, families and building staff. When asked about the upcoming assignment, Mr. Hall said, “I am honored to have this opportunity to work with the entire Beach School team. I look forward to continuing to build on the tradition
of strong connections between the school and the larger island community.” Also, he looks forward to learning everything he can about the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program.
Mr. Hall received his Master’s of Education in literacy from Walden University and his Principal’s Certificate from Western Washington University. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies, Economics, and Spanish from Seattle University.
Beach Elementary School is the smallest elementary school in the district with average attendance at 35 students. It is located on Lummi Island. In 2015, Beach was authorized as the smallest International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme school in the world. Beach Elementary School is committed to developing internationally-minded lifelong learners through a rigorous, inquiry-based curriculum. ... See MoreSee Less
