The district announces the hiring of Mr. David Rodriguez as assistant principal for Ferndale High School. Mr. Rodriguez fills the position that was open due to Assistant Principal Julia Besola moving to the director of teaching and learning role. Register for School School begins Wednesday, September 6. Kindergartners and students new to the district should register for school directly at their neighborhood school between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. weekdays. Elementary and middle schools open Wednesday, August 23. Ferndale High opens Monday, August 14 and Windward High opens Tuesday, August 22. Administrative Changes at Ferndale High

The district is pleased to announce the hiring of Ms. Jenifer Rolie as assistant principal for Ferndale High School. Ms. Rolie fills the position that was open due to Mr. Jeremy Vincent moving to the principal position. Ms. Rolie comes to the district from Bellingham Schools where she has worked as dean of students at Shuksan Middle School. Lummi Language Recordings part of Whatcom Museum Exhibit

  This past spring, Ferndale High School Teacher Smak i’ ya’ (Matt Warbus) and members of the Ferndale High School Lummi Language Class were busy preparing audio recordings for an interactive exhibit at Whatcom Museum called “People of the Sea and Cedar: A Journey Through the History and Cultures of the Tribes of the Northwest Coast.” The exhibit shares the history and art of the Coast Salish people, focused on the Lummi and Nooksack tribes. It is with great pleasure we announce the hiring of two administrators to our team: Director of Transportation Ms. Kelly Johnson and Director of Food Services Mr. Michael Freer. Ms. Johnson has been hired as the district director of transportation. Most recently, Ms. Johnson worked for the Edmonds School District as a transportation router. School Supplies for 2017-2018

Ferndale School District provides all the school supplies that students in grades preschool through five (and for students in grades six through twelve who qualify for free or reduced meals) need in their classrooms for learning. This includes pens, pencils, paper, crayons, binders, tissue, erasers and much more. ProBuild is Business of the Year

  Probuild has been recognized as the district’s 2016-2017 Business of the Year! With assistance from Probuild, Windward High School was able to build a garden and rehab an existing greenhouse on the school’s property. Probuild donated lumber and provided discounts on other building materials that were used to construct the new garden. Over 40 Windward High School students participated in this project.
